Description
Garbage Bread is a great way to use up leftovers in your fridge while still making a meal that feels indulgent and satisfying. The name may sound unappealing, but the taste is anything but. It is essentially a rolled-up pizza stuffed with a combination of meats, cheeses, and vegetables, making every bite flavorful.
Ingredients
1 package (16 oz) pizza dough
1/2 lb cooked sausage, crumbled
1/2 cup pepperoni slices
1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
1/4 cup red onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil.
Step 2: Prepare the Dough
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
Step 3: Assemble the Filling
Evenly spread the cooked sausage, pepperoni slices, chopped bell pepper, and red onion over the dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Step 4: Roll the Bread
Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log, sealing the edges by pinching the dough together. Place the seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 5: Bake
Brush the top of the bread with olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Step 6: Cool and Serve
Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
