Ingredients
-
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs if preferred)
-
2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
-
1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or 3 tablespoons homemade ranch seasoning)
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon onion powder
-
½ teaspoon paprika (optional for color and added flavor)
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
-
Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)
-
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
-
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
Pat the chicken breasts dry using paper towels. This helps the oil and seasonings stick better and promotes even cooking.
In a small bowl, combine the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil (or melted butter), then generously coat each piece with the seasoning blend on both sides.
If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan over the top of each seasoned chicken breast. This adds a savory, gooey touch!
Place the seasoned chicken in the prepared baking dish and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and juices run clear.
For a golden cheesy top, you can broil the chicken for the last 2-3 minutes — just keep an eye on it!
Notes
Chicken thickness affects baking time. For best results, use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. If your chicken breasts are particularly thick, consider slicing them in half horizontally for even cooking. Resting the chicken for 5 minutes after baking helps retain juices.
